The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in precision agriculture has emerged as a transformative approach towards enhancing farming practices, ensuring sustainability, and optimizing resource usage. AI technologies, including machine learning (ML), deep learning, and data analytics, enable farmers to precisely monitor, manage, and control farming activities, resulting in better crop yields, reduced environmental impact, and efficient resource usage. Precision farming relies on real-time data from various sources such as sensors, drones, and satellite imagery to optimize irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and other key farming operations. This research explores how integration in agriculture has made AI excellent support for decision processes in crop management, providing real-time monitoring and predictive analytics. Genetic advancements and AI in resource optimization make higher agricultural yields and resilience possible. However, due to technological, societal, and legal obstacles, the promise for AI in agriculture has not yet materialized. This paper explores the role of AI in precision agriculture, its impact on sustainable farming practices, and its potential to address challenges faced by the agricultural sector. We also compare AI-based farming methods with traditional farming techniques, highlighting the advantages and limitations of both approaches.
