Abstract

The study determined the relationship between the teachers’ effectiveness and teaching modalities towards academic performance of the students in the Municipality of Magpet. The study used descriptive-correlation research design to analyze the data from 160 teachers identified through stratified random sampling by proportionate allocation. Frequency, mean and percentage were used to describe results. Spearman's rho determined the relationship of the stated variables, multiple linear regression determined the influence of the independent to the dependent variables. The teachers’ effectiveness in terms of strategy, instructional materials and assessment has a significant relationship to students’ performance in terms of 1st and 2nd quarter; teachers’ effectiveness is significantly influenced the students’ performance in 1st and 2nd quarter grading period. Teachers’ teaching modalities in terms of modular learning and blended learning is highly significant to students’ performance in 1st quarter and 2nd quarter grading period; teachers’ teaching modalities has a significant influenced on the students’ performance in 2nd quarter grading period. The academic performance can sustain by the following variables; strategy, instructional materials, assessment, modular learning and blended learning.
