This study investigates why the most of the government schools’ students don’t like to write in English Language as a second Language special preference for the students of government schools from five educational zones in Batticaloa District. Data were collected randomly from eighty students in each school. The participants of this study who are in different grades. They are grade 9, 10, O/L & A/L. This exploratory study attempts to analyses why the majority of students, who are second language learners of English Language, don’t like to write in English Language by using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The finding of this particular survey indicated that the most of the students were facing a lot of obstacles in writing English Language due to lack of vocabulary, poor spelling, structure of the sentence, first language interference, poor understanding of grammar and poor in their own creativity. According to the revelation of this particular case, the education system should be changed and improved with students and teachers who teach English Language at the government schools.
