Abstract

The government of India has launched several schemes to uphold the culture of research and innovation among the student community. Additional care has been taken of the vulnerable sections of society. Funded and formulated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Maulana Azad national Scholarship is open for the students belonging to the minority community and are, as well, engaged in higher studies in different streams of education. This study is aimed to gain an in-depth understanding and first-hand experience of beneficiaries of MANF scholarship. Both purposive and snowball sampling were employed in conducting this study. In the process of this study, 15 beneficiaries from Jammu and Kashmir were interviewed in person. The face-to-face interview was based on open-ended and descriptive questions. Besides, several interpretive and specific questions were asked during the interview process to make things as straightforward as possible. The collected data was read multiple times to achieve familiarisation and then compared with other data sets and interpreted.
