The purpose of this study was to determinethe level of stress sources and coping mechanisms of elementary school teachers in Kidapawan City District V, Division of Kidapawan City for the school year 2020-2021. Specifically, it ascertained the significant relationship and influence of stress sources on coping mechanisms. The study included 116 teachers as respondents. The mean, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the data. To determine the level of stress sources and coping mechanisms of public elementary teachers, stratified random sampling with proportionate sample allocation was used. The survey questionnaire was validated and tested using the Cronbach reliability test, which gave an alpha value of 0.965. The results concluded that the level of sources of stress in terms of personal-related, work-related, family-related and subject-related among teachers was moderately high. On the level of coping mechanisms, the result concluded that teachers were highly engaged in using problem-focused and emotional focused, and moderately engaged in using appraisal-focused coping. Meanwhile, the results proved that the sources of stress among teachers in terms of personal, work, family and subject – related stress had a significant relationship with teachers coping mechanisms. On the other hand, the result proved that the influence of the sources stress on personal, work, family and subject related stress significantly influence teachers coping mechanisms. As a result of the study's findings, it can be inferred that teachers’ sources of stress like personal, work, family and subject related stress were factors that lead teachers to use a variety of coping mechanism to deal with this stress.
